Acceptance of Terms
DVD TRANSFER provides media transfer services. By using our services, you the customer agree to all of the following terms and conditions.
Definitions and Interpretations
For the purpose of this agreement, DVD TRANSFER will also be referred to as ‘we’, ‘us’ and ‘our’. The customer will also be referred to as ‘you’ and ‘your’.

Website Property Rights
The works of authorship contained in this Website, including but not limited to all text, video recordings, logos and images, are owned by DVD TRANSFER. This content is protected by UK and international copyright laws.
All video tapes supplied by the customer to DVD TRANSFER are transferred in the same colour encoding system as they are received, unless otherwise instructed. Foreign NTSC tapes will be transferred to NTSC format DVDs. UK PAL tapes will be transferred to PAL format DVDs.
All video tapes supplied by the customer to DVD TRANSFER are transferred in the same aspect ratio as they are received, unless otherwise instructed. Tapes recorded in the 4:3 aspect ratio will be transferred to DVD in the same 4:3 aspect ratio. Tapes recorded in a widescreen aspect ratio will be transferred to DVD in the same widescreen aspect ratio.
We use high grade DVD-R and DVD+R discs, to transfer your media to DVD. These discs are compatible with the majority of DVD players.
As the customer, it is your responsibility to check the instruction manual for your DVD player, to ensure that it is compatible with these disc formats. DVD TRANSFER will help and advise you in any way we can, but we are not responsible for the compatibility of your DVD player. We cannot give refunds if your DVD player is not compatible with our discs.
Our turnaround time is variable and depends on the quantity of media you want transferred, the time of year and the number of jobs we are currently working on.
Most small orders can usually be completed within 2-3 working days and larger orders within 5-7 working days. In busier periods, we will advise you, if we require more time.
Delivery and Postage
DVD TRANSFER provides a free collection and delivery service for local customers. We will come to collect your tapes from you at your address. Once we have completed the transfers, we will deliver them to you. A convenient time will be arranged with you, for us to collect and deliver.
Customers living further away
You can choose to personally deliver and collect your original media and transfers at our secure business address, or you can post the media to us and we will post them back to you.
If you choose to post your media to us, we recommend that you use Royal Mail Special Delivery or Recorded Delivery. Both of these services require a signature on delivery and provide insurance. You will also receive a tracking number, to check the progress of your delivery.
The customer is responsible for ensuring that the correct value of postage is used. You agree that if you have underpaid the postage and a surcharge has been applied, that you will cover the cost.
The customer agrees to ensure that all materials are packaged securely.
DVD TRANSFER will return all of your original media together with your transfers, either by Royal Mail Special Delivery or Recorded Delivery, according to your request. The cost of return postage will be added to your final total.
Payment is made after we have completed the order and prior to us delivering it to you.
You will be notified by telephone or email when your transfers have been completed and will normally pay cash on delivery.
Local customers agree to arrange a suitable time for delivery and payment, within 3 days of receiving the notification.
You may also pay by a bank transfer with faster payments. It is also possible to pay by credit or debit card on receipt of a PayPal invoice, or directly through a PayPal account. The transfers and original media will only be delivered to you, once payment has been received.
Customers living further away
You will be emailed an invoice for payment, once your transfers have been completed. You can pay by a bank transfer with faster payments. It is also possible to pay by credit or debit card on receipt of a PayPal invoice, or directly through a PayPal account.
Customers agree to pay DVD TRANSFER within 3 days of receiving the invoice.
The transfers and original media will only be posted to you, once payment has been received. Customers can also arrange to collect the transfers from our secure business address, or an alternative convenient location and pay cash on collection.
Loss or Damage
DVD TRANSFER cannot be held liable for any loss or damage of your original materials during transit.
We recommend to customers who are not locally based, that you use Royal Mail Special Delivery or Recorded Delivery services for posting your materials to us.
Any disputes or claims regarding loss or damage of your materials in transit should be taken up directly with Royal Mail, or your chosen delivery company.
You agree that DVD TRANSFER cannot be held liable for media supplied to us which are damaged, dirty or unuseable. If media is damaged, dirty or unuseable on arrival, we will notify you by email or telephone and will return it back to you.
DVD TRANSFER cannot be held liable for any loss or damage to your materials, caused by storm, lightning, flood, fire, explosion, theft, or any unforeseen circumstances that are beyond our control.
We handle all media with great care and attention. We are not liable for tapes that become damaged during playback, as a result of their defects or age.
In the unlikely event that we cause loss or damage to your materials, our liability is limited to the replacement cost of the same blank media.
It is the customer’s responsibility to correctly handle and store the discs that we have supplied to you. We are not responsible for damaged or mishandled discs.
Errors or Omissions
Customers can supply text, for us to use as the menu titles and for writing or printing on to discs. The customer is responsible for providing clear instructions with their order. Customers agree to provide instructions either by email, in print, or written in clear hand writing.
DVD TRANSFER will always contact you, to clarify instructions if we are unsure. We will not be responsible for text errors, where written instructions have not been provided, are unclear, or contain mistakes.
Any omission or error in any publicity materials, webpage, order form, price list, order acknowledgement, invoice or other document issued by us may be corrected by us without liability.
All discs are inspected and tested prior to dispatch. In the unlikely event that there is a fault with your disc, you agree to notify us within seven days, by email, with information about the issue and the model of your DVD player. We shall have no liability after that time.
We will do our best to solve the problem by telephone or email. If we cannot resolve the issue, please return the disc to us, together with your original tape. If we find that the disc has a defect, we will send you a replacement and refund any return postage costs.
The customer agrees to comply with copyright laws and will not supply third party copyrighted material to us, unless the Customer has permission from the copyright owner.
The customer agrees to defend, indemnify and hold harmless DVD TRANSFER from any liability, losses, claims, costs or expenses arising from copyright infringement of any materials supplied by the customer.
DVD TRANSFER reserves the right to refuse media supplied by customers, which we deem to be offensive, obscene, immoral or illegal.
Law and jurisdiction
These terms and conditions will be governed by and construed in accordance with English law, and any disputes relating to these terms and conditions will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
These terms and conditions, together with DVD TRANSFER’s invoice respecting the services ordered by the customer, are the complete and exclusive agreement between DVD TRANSFER and the customer, and they supersede all prior proposals, oral or written, understandings, and all other communications between DVD TRANSFER and the customer.
